Meet Betsy Spivak: The Story Behind La Storia Travel
Ciao, I’m Betsy Spivak. I founded La Storia Travel in 2018 to share my profound love for the history, culture, and culinary traditions of Southern Italy. When I'm not exploring the sun-drenched coastal paths of Puglia, navigating the historic streets of Naples, or uncovering the culinary secrets of Sicily, you can find me at home in the Fishtown neighborhood of Philadelphia. I live here with my husband, Chris, and our beloved black lab, Maury.
As a proud member of the Philadelphia Chapter of Les Dames d'Escoffier my passion lies at the intersection of food, culture, and community. Over the years, my own travel experiences have deepened through close partnerships with local Italian farmers, food historians, home cooks, archeologists, and master craftspeople. I built La Storia Travel to bridge the gap between curious American travelers and these incredible local stewards of Italian heritage.
