Ciao! I’m Betsy Spivak —Tour Creator, Traveler, and founder of women-owned La Storia Travel.
La Storia Travel was born in 2018 from my simple desire: to offer meaningful, small group travel experiences in Southern Italy for women who crave connection, not crowds.
My lifelong love of Italian history, food, and music led me here—to the olive groves of Puglia, the hills of Campania, the volcanic soil of Sicily, and the quiet villages of Calabria and Basilicata.
The phrase La Storia in Italian means both “history” and “story.” And that’s the heart of what I do. These trips are about uncovering the stories that live in the land, the kitchens, and the people—whether we’re learning to make orecchiette with a nonna in Puglia, walking the ancient stones of Pompeii in Campania, exploring Baroque towns in southeastern Sicily, or tasting peperoncini and nduja in the hills of Calabria.

I believe in travel that’s unhurried, grounded, and personal. My itineraries are carefully curated for those who want to go beyond the postcard version of Italy—women who are independent, curious, and looking for something more thoughtful than a package tour.
We stay in boutique hotels and family-run masserie, visit artisans in their workshops, share long meals at communal tables, and explore towns that feel untouched by time,
