The other week, I got back from a trip to Italy, where I was doing research for my upcoming 2022 trips! I spent most of my time in the city of Naples, and then 2 days in Salerno, which is the on the southern end of the Amalfi Coast.

This is Masseria Serra Dell’isola and the home of Cucina in Masseria, Homestay cooking in Italy This is the homebase for our Puglia tours. Owned by Rita Guastamacchia, this masseria (or fortified farmhouse) has been owned continuously by Rita’s family since it was built in the 16th Century!

The town of Santa Maria Capua Vetere is a medieval descendant of Ancient Capua, one of the largest and most important cities of the ancient world— famous for its many monuments of Roman times, including the Amphitheater Campano, second only in size to the Colosseum of Rome.

Have you ever heard of Pasticceria Sal De Riso - Minori? It is a world-renowned Pasticceria (a pastry shop) in the seaside village of Minori on the Amalfi Coast!

Look at this gorgeous view in Naples! This is the lungomare, which means the waterfront or seafront.

This is Capua Amphitheater in Santa Maria Capua Vetere, Campania Italy! Burrata is a fresh mozzarella cheese made from cow’s milk that is filled with cream and shreds of mozzarella called Stracciatella! It has a very soft and creamy texture…and tastes of fresh milk. 😍🥛

Burrata comes from the province of Bari, where it has been produced since the very first decades of the 19th century and is one of the most traditional products from Puglia!

A very special trip to Puglia was the inspiration and why I set forth and founded Travel With A Local. The region of Puglia is the heel of Italy’s boot and is surrounded by the sparkling blue Adriatic and Ionian seas.
